The five primary stock dimensions involved in stock fitting are:

  1. Length of pull - length of the butt stock
  2. Cast - angle of the stock relative to the axis of the barrel
  3. Drop at the comb - distance of the comb below the rib
  4. Pitch - angle formed by the butt and rib
  5. Drop at the heel- distance of the butt (heel) below the rib
